Andrew Walls, director of bands

Mr. Andrew Walls started as the Director of Bands at Spring-Ford in April 2023.
Originally from central Delaware, Mr. Walls began his music learning from his parents and older sister, all of whom are Music Teachers. He was heavily involved in Delaware Honors Concert Bands, Jazz Bands, and Choirs, and was awarded the Delaware Honors In Music Award for his contributions to the Delaware Music Educators Association.
Mr. Walls continued his education at West Chester University of Pennsylvania where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. While there, he studied Trumpet, Voice, Jazz Improvisation, and Instrumental Conducting and performed in the School’s most prestigious Concert Bands, Jazz Bands, and Choirs.
In the Marching Arts, Mr. Walls has experience in Drum and Bugle Corps, marching with the Windsor Regiment (DCA) and The Spirit of Atlanta (DCI). He also served as section leader and soloist in the West Chester University "Incomparable" Golden Rams Marching Band.
Prior to his appointment at Spring-Ford, Mr. Walls worked as the Director of Bands at Polytech High School in Woodside DE and as the 4-8 Grade Band Director in the Wilson School District in West Lawn PA. He is extremely excited to continue the legacy of the Spring-Ford Band Program!
In his free time, Mr. Walls enjoys listening to podcasts, and playing trumpet, corn hole, and Ping-Pong. He is especially fond of walking, cooking, and traveling with his wife and best friend Reily, and their black lab, Bailey.
